| Fat Angel BBQ was created in 2007 when two boys from Jersey decided to spin off from their former team, Lost Nation Smoke Company. After years of working as apprentices with Rich Decker, they decided that they were ready for the major league. Fat Angel BBQ is a competition barbecue team and catering company specializing in the art of smoking chicken, pork ribs, pork shoulder and beef brisket. We compete mostly on the east coast, as our pitmasters hail from New Jersey. |

Fat Angel BBQ in Red Bank earns heat cred;
ribs win World Series of Barbecue
Almost immediately after Fat Angel BBQ claimed first place for its Texas-style brisket at the National BBQ Festival in Douglas, Ga., earlier this year, the muttering started.
"Did y’all hear that Jersey won for brisket?" one Lone Star pitmaster said
to another, the "Jersey" spit out in that contemptuous tone typically reserved
for, well, how people usually talk about New Jersey.
